Note: 
Although son William's death certificate states mother as Isabella McBryde it is assumed that his son James who registered the death confused the names of his grandmothers.
Jean Morrison was identified as a possible mother as an OPR search revealed William as the only William Nicholson born in Glasgow City (1800) which at the time was in Lanarkshire. His place of birth is shown, albeit faintly, on the 1851 census as Lanarkshire
